Michael Ely
Attorney Michael Ely's knowledge and experience in litigation, aviation law, wrongful death and personal injury makes him indispensable at Clapp, Desjardins & Ely, pllc. He initially joined Clapp, Desjardins & Ely in 2001 as a law clerk. In January of 2003, Mr. Ely was hired as an associate and was named partner in 2006.
At Clapp, Desjardins & Ely, Mr. Ely has had the opportunity to litigate cases in California, Montana, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Nevada, Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, Georgia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., South Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, New Mexico and Mississippi. Mr. Ely has litigated numerous aviation cases including helicopter crashes, light aviated crashes and commercial accidents. In addition, he has worked on litigation involving dog bites, pedestrian motor vehicle accidents, automobile accidents, heavy truck accidents, and storekeeper liability for false imprisonment.
In 2006, Mr. Ely was lead counsel on the Hatano v. Sundance Helicopters case (A500432 Clark County, Nevada), which was tried to a verdict of $3,262,772.72, and was settled during the Defendant's appeal for a confidential amount.
